New Bonus Points Are Here: GotSport Rankings Rewards Hot Streaks This Season
Starting this season, GotSport Rankings is rolling out a brand-new way for teams to boost their standing: League Play Bonus Points. Every team competing in a league hosted with GotSport can now earn extra points simply by playing well over consecutive games and a new set of Hot Streak Badges will show it off right on their team ranking page.
League play is the backbone of a soccer season, giving teams a long-running competition against their peers from the first whistle to the last.
From August 2026, that consistency will finally get its own reward. If a team wins, scores, keeps a clean sheet, or simply stays unbeaten over a run of consecutive league games, bonus points will now be added to their total. The longer your team keeps achieving the streaks, the higher the amount of bonus points awarded.
Four Ways to Earn Bonus Points
Bonus points are awarded across four types of streaks. The longer a team keeps a streak alive, the higher the points it earns.
Winning Streak
The team is on a hot streak, beating everyone in their path. Winning 3 games or more in a row is rewarded with points.
Shut-Out Streak
The defense is on top form and can’t be passed. Awarded when a team does not concede any goals across consecutive league games.
Scoring Streak
The attacking players can’t be stopped, the team is scoring past everyone. Awarded when a team scores in consecutive league games.
Unbeaten Streak
The team has a strong mentality and will not be beaten. Drawing or winning keeps this run alive. Awarded when a team remains unbeaten in consecutive league games.
Watch for the New Hot Streak Badges
Alongside the points, GotSport Rankings is introducing Hot Streak Badges on every team’s rankings page. If a team is on a hot streak, its badge will “light up” and upgrade as the streak keeps going — giving every visitor an instant read on a team’s current form, not just their 12-month national ranking.
Playing a team soon that has shut-out and unbeaten badges? You know your attack is in for a tough game and you’ll need to prepare accordingly!
Good to Know
- Bonus points are available in all leagues hosted with GotSport, but only using GotSport scheduling software.
- Only play from a single league event is eligible — consecutive results across two different leagues won’t count toward a streak.
- Bonus points are awarded in date order, based on the league schedule.
- If a league game isn’t reported, the bonus points may be delayed until the league organizers report or reschedule the missing game.
- Bonus points apply to leagues scheduled to start playing after August 1, 2026.
