Smarter Field Selection:

Filter Fields by Playing Format (7v7, 9v9, 11v11)

Event directors know the challenge isn’t just putting games on the calendar. It’s making sure each match is assigned to a field that is available.

This week, GotSport released a scheduling improvement designed specifically for event directors and schedulers: field filtering by playing format (pitch size).

What’s new

Event directors can now filter fields by playing format with a single click.

Inside the field selection list, you’ll see selectable checkboxes for each pitch size used in the event. Selecting a format automatically selects every field configured with that size.

Example:
Click 9v9 → all 9v9-capable fields instantly selected

No manual searching.
No missing a field
No schedule errors caused by the wrong surface or size

Even better:
GotSport only displays the pitch types actually used in your event. If your tournament doesn’t include 11v11 divisions, 11v11 won’t appear at all — keeping the interface clean and focused.

Why this matters

This is a small UI change — but a huge operational change.

Tournament scheduling is not just about dates and teams. It’s a logistics puzzle involving:

  • Age groups

  • game format rules (US Youth 7v7/9v9/11v11 standards)

  • complex layouts

  • turnaround times

  • referee availability

One wrong field assignment can break an entire day’s schedule.

The new filtering:

  • reduces human error

  • speeds up scheduling

  • prevents incorrect field assignments

  • simplifies multi-division events

For large tournaments, this can save hours.

Works with your existing venue setup

No additional configuration is required if your venues already have pitch types assigned.

If you’re an event director currently preparing a schedule, you’ll see the new pitch-type filtering available inside your match chart field selection immediately.
