Easier Ways to Manage Parents, Guardians, and Family Relationships
We’ve made it simpler to keep your family’s account accurate and connected. Whether you’re adding a second parent to your account or making sure everyone’s relationships are set up correctly, here’s what’s new.
Add a parent or guardian to all your children at once
Families often have more than one child registered in GotSport, and until now, adding a new parent or guardian meant doing it separately for each child — a few extra clicks every time.
Now, when you add a new parent or guardian to your account, you’ll see a simple checklist of every child in your family. Just check the box next to each child you’d like that parent or guardian connected to, and they’re added to all of them in one step.
How it works:
- Go to your Family tab and select Add Parent/Guardian.
- Search for the parent or guardian by email, name, or other details.
- From the list that appears, check the box for each child you’d like to connect them to.
- Click Search (or the equivalent action button) to save the relationship.
A quick way to catch and fix incorrect family relationships
Sometimes, during setup, a parent and child’s roles can get crossed — for example, a parent’s account accidentally gets listed as a child, or vice versa. It happens, especially when a family is registering multiple people at once.
To help catch this early, you’ll now see a friendly alert if we notice something that looks off in your family’s relationships, along with a Review button that walks you through fixing it.
How it works:
- If a potential mismatch is detected, you’ll see an alert message like “Check your parents/guardians — [name] is listed as…” at the top of your account.
- Click Review to see the details.
- You’ll be shown the relationship in question and a list of children to reassign it to, if needed.
- Click Remove & reassign to correct it — no need to contact support or start over.
These updates are designed to save time when adding family members and to make it easy to self-correct if something doesn’t look right — keeping your account accurate with less back-and-forth.
